Roger Myers doesn't just look at what is; he imagines what's possible, and he sets the tone for a culture of innovation. Of the residents in our newest PVM location, Hartford Village in Detroit, 20% are former Detroiters that have moved back into the city for the first time in decades — something many of us in Michigan hadn’t thought possible.
Creating this location was a bold move, and it's paid off. Roger says he wasn't always this bold, however. In fact, his advice to his younger self? Be bolder. Take more risks. Don't wait for every last bit of information before making a decision. Roger talks all this and more in this video interview with Plante Moran Managing Partner Jim Proppe.
Jim's new blog, Learn from Leaders, features interviews with executives of respected companies who are renowned for their distinguished management style. In a blend of articles and videos, Jim mines for nuggets of wisdom to guide, motivate, and inspire other current and aspiring leaders. A longtime client of Plante Moran, PVM was quickly identified as an organization under outstanding leadership.
Roger Myers has been leading PVM for over 25 years, during which time he's helped to increase the number of PVM residences fivefold. He served on a number of boards and committees, dedicates significant time to community service, and has received several honors for the significant work he does, including on behalf of Michigan seniors. We're proud to call him our own, and we hope you learn from what he has to say in this short video—we sure did!
