The 221st General Assembly of the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.) is being held in Detroit, June 13 - 22. The biennial meeting brings together representatives from all 173 presbyteries, as well as many observers and participants. The theme of the conference is “Abound in Hope.” Planners chose Detroit with great intention to “give a vital witness that Christ is alive and working in this city.” Presbyterian Villages of Michigan has a display in the exhibit hall. Representatives from PVM, including CEO and President, Roger Myers, are in attendance throughout the Assembly, and have participated in the planning of the gathering. PVM tells an inspiring story for the Assembly as a whole and for first-time visitors to Detroit. PVM has evolved since 1945 into a faith-based, multi-site system that serves seniors of all faiths. The non-profit organization serves 4300 seniors in Michigan with housing, services and programs, wherever they choose to live. PVM currently has seven housing sites in the City of Detroit providing high-quality affordable housing for qualified seniors.
