Rev. Dr. Louis J. Prues of Detroit was recently elected to the Presbyterian Villages Board of Directors. Mr. Prues holds numerous advanced degrees. He received a BA and an MBA in Marketing and Financial Management as well as a Master of Divinity Degree from Dubuque Theological Seminary. He also received a Doctorate of Ministries and a PhD from San Francisco Theological Seminary.
Major career contributions include serving as Senior Vice President of Operations and Leadership Development (Samaritas) for many years from which he retired in 2015. Extensive leadership at the state and federal levels has included three national task forces for the Federation of State Medical Boards (FSMB). He has provided expert consulting in the arenas of low-income housing, opioid prevention and ethics regarding Artificial Intelligence in medicine and healthcare. An ordained Presbyterian clergyman for the past twenty-seven years, Dr. Prues has served as Parish Associate at Jefferson Avenue Presbyterian Church, an inner-city church “dedicated to serving people in the midst of Detroit”.
