Lynn Street Manor and Presbyterian Villages of Michigan are pleased to announce the Community Ribbon Cutting Celebration for a new Telehealth Suite located at Lynn Street Manor in Onaway, Michigan.

The event will take place at noon on Wednesday, August 15. The public is invited to attend the program and visit the new telehealth suite, as well as touring the entire senior community. Refreshments will be served.

The Honorable U.S. Representative Jack Bergman (from Michigan’s 1st Congressional District), along with members of the Lynn Street Manor Board, staff, residents, and other community leaders will participate in the Ribbon Cutting Celebration. Congressman Bergman was instrumental in securing the funding to create the telehealth suite for the use by seniors and other individuals in the greater Onaway area. The $140,000 investment enables individuals to conveniently and confidentially connect with their healthcare providers, reducing the need to travel longer distances for some in-person appointments.

Sandra (Sandy) Grulke, Chairperson of the Lynn Street Manor Board, stated “The new Telehealth Suite promises exciting benefits for the entire Onaway community and surrounding rural areas. It will significantly improve access to health and wellness services for our more isolated residents, especially when traditional resources like transportation are limited or an immediate need for a healthcare provider arises. Having the Suite available addresses the critical issue of delayed care, ensuring that urgent health needs are met without the burden of long waits, which can often stretch for months.” The Mayor of Onaway, Michael Benson, commented on this important new community resource “The new Telehealth Suite at Lynn Street Manor promises significant convenience for both residents and the surrounding communities. Designed for comfort, the suite features well-lit rooms and state-of-the-art technology, ensuring a comfortable and effective telehealth visit for all users.” “The potential uses for the new Telehealth Suite extend far beyond traditional healthcare appointments, offering exciting opportunities for the entire community. We envision this space becoming a vital resource for comprehensive wellness, an aspect of health often overshadowed by immediate physical needs. The suite will provide convenient access to crucial services such as online counseling, educational webinars, and virtual support group meetings like AA or NA. This expanded accessibility will significantly ease the burden on individuals seeking the right connections for their mental and emotional well-being, fostering a more holistic approach to health within our community.” said Monica Voigt the Lynn Street Manor Administrator. Mark Kronner, PVM’s Chief Technology Officer remarked “This Telehealth Suite reflects our commitment to bringing smart, secure, and accessible technology solutions to Michigan’s seniors—especially in rural areas like Onaway. Our team worked to ensure the suite is not only equipped with advanced telehealth tools, but also fully secured with electronic access and connectivity systems to protect privacy and support reliable care. The Department of Technology is proud to be part of a project that empowers residents with direct access to healthcare while reducing travel burdens.”

Congressman Bergman remarked that “This telehealth suite will enhance the quality and access to healthcare in the Onaway area, while also helping to control costs. I’m pleased to have been a part of securing the funding that made this possible and I look forward to attending on August 15.”
