1. What makes living at The Village of Redford different?
Our staff and residents often remark that living here feels like being part of an extended family. We enjoy a sense of community that revolves around PVM’s mission as a non-profit, faith-based organization.
Cottages and apartments feel integrated into the surrounding neighborhood, and are located within walking distance of all that the town of Redford has to offer. Moving here enables our residents to continue their independent lifestyle while having the option of community-provided support, social, and transportation services.
2. Will I be losing my freedom by moving into The Village of Redford?
Although we do have nightly, onsite security and an onsite service coordinator, residents are still able to come and go as they please anytime of the day or night. There are no visiting hours or curfews. A move into the community is often a new beginning followed by a new found freedom. Residents have the time to do what they enjoy!
3. Are housekeeping services included?
The Village of Redford is an independent living community. Residents maintain the interiors of their apartment or cottage. If housekeeping assistance is needed, contact the onsite service coordinator for options and information.
4. What is the availability of laundry services?
As an independent living community, residents typically have their own washers and dryers; hookups are ready in each apartment and cottage. We also have a laundry room at the Community Center, open 8:30 a.m.–4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday.
5. What if I do not wish or am no longer able to drive?
Many of our residents have their own vehicles. However we do have transportation available to local shopping areas at least once per week. The onsite service coordinator can assist with referral to transportation.
